about
From a meeting of random minds the Gin Collective was born. A project that threw musicians together who had no previous acquaintance. In one month they collectively wrote, produced, performed and filmed themselves to create "Lockdown lady". Hope you enjoy.
Proceeds from these downloads will go to Oxfordshire Mind to help fund the amazing work they do.
lyrics
Well, I rolled up to the juke joint, but the man said "No!",
yeah, I rolled up to the juke joint, but the man said "No!",
We ain't open fer bizniss - better walk on down the road
So we rocked up Smokey Joe's, but the man said "Go!"
Yeah, we rocked up Smokey Joe's, but the man said "Go!"
"It's a lockdown, baby - better find yourself at home!"
I'm a lockdown lady, looking for a lockdown lord
A ten grand fine is not one I can afford ...
So I rolled back home with a gin bottle by my side
Yeah, I rolled back home with a gin bottle by my side
This lockdown blues has sure destroyed my life ...
So, I poured myself a drink and sat in my room
Yeah, I poured myself a drink and sat in my room
Called all my friend and we danced and sang on Zoom
I'm a lockdown lady, looking for a lockdown lord
A ten grand fine is not one I can afford ...
I ain't gat no money
Coz my work's been told to stop!
I don't think it's funny
I can't afford an online shop, oooooooooh
I'm a lockdown lady, looking for a lockdown lord
A ten grand fine is not one I can afford ...
I'm a lockdown lady, looking for a lockdown lord
A ten grand fine is not one I can afford ...
I ain't gat no money
My work's been told to stop!
I don't think it's funny
Can't afford to online shop
Lockdown!
